Five and a half years ago, after being diagnosed with Marfan's and given only a couple of years to live, I approached David & commenced rehab training. I had an implantable defibrillator and didn't have enough musculature to support me walking more than 200 metres. Today I am strong & healthy enough to enjoy a range of recreational activities & a career centred around movement. For those of you living in Brisbane, I can honestly say - you will not find anyone better than David. He is the best, or should I say some what of a genius!

UBX has been perfect for me. The circuit set up means I work my whole body across the week and I am not left to my own devices to muddle through a work out unsure of the activities I should be doing. You get 1 on 1 time with the staff member on site which pushes you that little bit extra. They also help tailor the exercises to fit you for your injuries and fitness levels. Since joining I have lost 15kg. Its been very easy to add three sessions a week to my routine and I look forward to my gym time on those days. I can't recommend these guys enough and Shane (the owner) is very supportive of your individual journey.

I was totally wrong as I was made to feel welcome as soon as I walked in the door not only by the lovely staff but also by the other members. The gym has a real warm community feel and I have never once felt self conscious or uncomfortable. The trainers are fantastic, they keep an eye on you, correcting you if you're not doing something right and pushing you harder if they think you need it and if I wasn't physically able to do some of the exercises they would always give me something else to do to work round it. As someone who doesn't love exercise generally, I have found something I actually enjoy. The 45 minutes fly by and I'm now much fitter and stronger than I was a year ago.

We come in all shapes, sizes & ages but everyone is encouraged to work at their own level of fitness & reach their goals. The flexibility is perfect to fit around a busy schedule & the general vibe in the club is first class. Most sustained level of fitness I have ever managed to achieved & loving it!
