We have made this recipe for 2 however you have serve half pear per person instead for a smaller dessert if you like. Once cooked the pears can be stored in there juices in the refrigerator for four days which is a great dessert to make ahead of time. If you are not fond of sweet desserts leave out the sugar.
This recipe is low fat and low sodium.
Ingredients
- 2 pears
- 1 tbsp. caster sugar
- 2 oranges, juiced and zested
- 1 lemon, zested
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cup boiling water
- Greek yoghurt to serve
Method
- Boil water in kettle and place 2 cups into a small saucepan, simmer.
- Add the cinnamon, sugar, fresh orange juice and rind of orange and lemon.
- Peel your pears, leaving stem and core and place in pot laying down on the side, lid on and simmer for 20 mins, turning over half way.
- Use a skewer to peirce pear, make sure cooked and take out.
- Serve with greek yoghurt and a drizzle of the syrup from the pot.
- Enjoy!
