This low fat Apple and Pear Crumble recipe is a perfect dessert if you're watching your weight. This crumble recipe is delicious on its own or served with your favourite vanilla flavoured yogurt.
Ingredients
Base
- 2 Pears – Packham cut into 1cm cubes
- 2 Apples – Granny Smith cut into 1cm cubes
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tsp cornflour
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
Crumble Mixture
- 50g Plain Flour (1/3 cup)
- 50g Oats (1/3 cup)
- 50g Brown Sugar (1/3 cup)
- 4 plain sweet biscuits
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 60g (4 tbl) Light Margarine
Method
- Preheat Oven to 200C.
- Place pear and apples into bowl with vanilla, lemon juice, cornflour and 2 tablespoons of the sugar. Mix until all coated. Place into oven proof dish.
- To make the topping place the flour, oats, remaining sugar, biscuits, cinnamon, margarine into a food processor and pulse until resembles fine crumbs.
- Place onto base mixture in dish and bake for approx 25 mins until crispy.
- Serve with low fat ice cream if desired.
